Summer is for Leather! Debunking The "Warm-Leather" Myth

There's a myth that's been around for a long time:

"Leather Furniture is too hot in the summer, and too cool in the winter."

Unfortunately, this is patently untrue.   The reason why this belief is so common is that for the past several decades manufacturers in the industry have been making "leather-similar" materials.

These materials may incorporate some leather in them, but are filled or covered with man-made products to give them a certain gloss, texture, or thickness.

At Aboda Decor in Barrie we are experts in leather home furnishings.  Our broad selection of options from Palliser Furniture and Ekornes Stressless.   We have a commitment to be Ontario's premier showroom for real leather home furnishings.

Hardwood Furniture: Why Better is Better

For decades there has been an emerging trend in the furniture industry for manufacturers to build their product using inferior woods & wood-like products in their lineup to accelerate production and lower manufacturing costs.

What does this mean?  Simply said; most products that are not using North American quality hardwoods are mass produced and low quality.  Low quality products need replacement...often.

Like many things, when you invest in quality you are making a better purchasing decision.  Would you rather purchase your home and re-do your floors every two years or invest in quality hardwood and enjoy them for decades?

At Aboda Decor we are proud to carry some of the finest furniture made from authentic North American hardwoods.   We choose to carry manufacturers that are committed to building quality products using real maple, birch, and other natural woods.  These lines include our Bermex Furniture dining room groups, West Brothers Furniture, Viebois Furniture, Bogdon & Gross Furniture, Michel Bourgeois Furniture & more.

Dovetail on Drawer

When a furniture manufacturer begins with quality solid hardwoods they do not mass assemble your products.  True furniture craftsman build your products out with care & detail you won't find in mass-produced goods.  These features include beautiful dovetailing, hand-wiped stains, durable strength coatings, mortise & tenon joints and much more.

At Aboda Decor in Barrie we are experts in the field of solid hardwood furniture, please visit our website to view our product selection and contact us for any items that interest you.
